Schools
Woodside Hills is in the Redwood City Elementary School District (RWCESD) for grades K-8 and in the Sequoia High School District for high school. The schools assigned to our residents are Henry Ford School on Massachusetts Ave. for grades K-5, Kennedy Middle School on Goodwin Ave. for grades 6-8 and Woodside High School on Woodside Road for grades 9-12.
Over a period of 30 years, Woodside Hills has made four attempts to effect a territory transfer into adjacent elementary school districts. All have been unsuccessful primarily because we have been opposed by the receiving district. One attempt did succeed in allowing interdistrict transfers into the Woodside Elementary School District but this program has recently been terminated. One school in the RWCESD should be noted. It is the Northstar Academy which focuses on an academic program for bright college-bound kids. The school has produced very high test scores but admission is limited.
A recent survey showed that about 90% of our elementary school aged kids go to private schools. A list of some of these schools appears below.
